The Association of Residential Letting Agents
Membership Number: 165
About ARLA
The Association of Residential Lettings Agents (ARLA) was formed in 1981 is the professional and regulatory body solely concerned with residential lettings in the UK. It was recognised that the requirements of the residential lettings market were so detailed and specific that a separate organisation was required to promote standards in this important and growing sector of the property market.
ARLA is seen as a benchmark for professionalism in which both landlords and tenants can have confidence.
Membership
Only agents who demonstrate that they have a thorough knowledge of their profession and that they conduct their business according to current best management practice achieve membership.
County Property has been a member of ARLA for more than 10 years. In order to comply with ARLA's membership requirements, an ARLA member has to:
• Have been in business for at least two years
• Employ qualified staff
• Hold separate client accounts and prove these are professionally managed and regularly audited
• Hold professional indemnity insurance cover to comply with the requirements of ARLA's Bonding Scheme.
Bonding Scheme
The ARLA Bonding Scheme is for the protection of Landlords and Tenants in the Private Rented Sector and means that your money is safe in our hands.
Training
Our Company Training Programme requires that all staff sit the ARLA foundation examination within the first six months of joining our employment and they receive all the encouragement, training, and coaching necessary to enable them to pass. They are encouraged to continue with their industry training and take the next set of examinations leading to the Technical Award.
